This is quickly becoming a favorite. I’ve made it with both Turkey and Chicken. It could be used as an appetizer, but I often make a double batch and we just crush it (kids included) as dinner.
Ingredients:
- olive oil
- 1 pound ground chicken or turkey
- 2 cloves minced garlic (if you like garlic, use a third)
- 1 onion, diced rather small
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon ginger, fresh or out of the spice container
- siracha – just a dab. More can be added to wraps when eating
- 3 green onions, chopped
- pepper to taste
- Lettuce – butter, romain, iceberg, whatever kind has nice big leaves
- Water chestnuts can be added, but I think they ruin everything
Directions:
Splash some olive oil into saucepan, medium heat. (more oil for turkey as it’s more dry)
Cook chicken or turkey until browned, break apart as much as possible
Add onion and garlic, cook for about 2 minutes
Stir in hoisin, soy, rice wine vinegar, and siracha
Add pepper to taste
EAT! – Break off lettuce, spoon in some meat taco style, roll it up and devour.
